History of Troop 31
Boy Scout Troop 31 was formed in April 1913, making it the oldest Boy Scout troop in the city of Rochester and the second oldest troop in Monroe County and Seneca Waterways Council.
Over a Century of Scouting
Since our founding in 1913, Troop 31 has been dedicated to developing character, citizenship, and leadership in young people. We are proud of our rich history and the thousands of young men who have been part of our troop over the past 112 years.
Notable Achievements
- Over 183 Eagle Scouts
- 73 years of Christmas tree sales (since 1952)
- Over 70 years attending Massawepie Scout Reservation
- Multiple trips to Philmont Scout Ranch
- Participation in numerous National Jamborees
- Continuous sponsorship by Third Presbyterian Church since 1913
