The Boy Scout emblem is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. It represents the values and ideals of Scouting.

The Fleur-de-lis

The three points of the Scout emblem represent the three parts of the Scout Oath:

• Duty to God and Country
• Duty to Others
• Duty to Self

The Eagle and Shield

The eagle with a shield is the national symbol of the Boy Scouts of America. The shield represents protection and readiness to defend freedom.

The Scroll

The scroll beneath the eagle bears the Scout Motto: "Be Prepared"
